How to reach Piacenza Campus

BY PLANE

Once arrived at the Airport (any of them in the following list) you can take a bus to Milan Central Railway Station (please check out on Airport website for timetable, tickets and prices).

  1. Motorway A1 (Milano-Bologna): Exit “Piacenza Sud”.
  2. Motorway A21 (Torino-Brescia): Exit “Piacenza Sud”.

From both exits, follow for Piacenza center. Turn left at round-about, after the overpass go straight ahead for 500 meters, the University is on the right.

BY TRAIN

  1. From Milan Central Railway Station take a train to Piacenza.

Health Service Telephone Book

As EU citizens you are entitled to Italian public health benefits. The service is guaranteed to holders of a European Health Card or European Health Card Substitute Certificate, which should be requested from your home country Health Authority.
When you arrive in Piacenza, you are entitled to treatment in Accident and Emergency departments of hospitals, and can consult a General Health Practitioner, on presentation of the above mentioned card or certificate.

Before leaving your home country, please check that you have this card or substitute certificate.

Non-European students have to subscribe an insurance policy in order to get a Permit of Stay. You can
choose one of the following options:

  1. Subscribe a Private Health Insurance in your home country
  2. Subscribe an International Health Insurance in your home country
  3. Obtain a consular statement confirming that you are entitled to medical care in consequence of an agreement between Italy and your home country
  4. Subscribe a Private Health Insurance policy with an Italian agency (e.g. Ina Assitalia – Piazza Cavalli 68, 29121 Piacenza – Tel.: (+39) 0523-383211 - @:This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)
  5. Register to the SSN (National Health Service) by paying 150,00 Euros for one calendar year (1 January – 31 December). You will get a personal ‘tessera sanitaria’ (health card) and you will choose your personal family doctor. Once in your Home Country, you will obtain a refund for your health expenses in Italy according to your Insurance Company agreement. Nevertheless, in order to avoid problems it is advisable to contact insurance agencies before leaving your home country.

Residency Permit

Residency Permit (Non-Eu students)

If you are staying in Italy for more than 90 days, you must go to a Post Office (see details below) within 8 days since your arrival in Italy (or any other Schengen country you’ve gone through preceding your arrival in Italy), in order to get the Yellow Kit (Residency Permit application forms) needed to get your Residency Permit (which is a living permit). The Kit contains a series of forms you must duly complete and return to the Post Office together with the following documents:

  1. Photocopy of passport (all pages - one page per sheet, only front),
  2. VISA documentation and any letter issued and stamped by the Consulate (make additional copies)
  3. A certificate of enrolment issued by UCSC and stamped by the Consulate
  4. Copy of health insurance coverage

Fill in the form (form 1, form page 1 to page 3) in capital letters with a black pen.
Do not close the envelope as the post officer will check all the documents inside.

When you hand in all the documents, you will have to pay:

  1. 70,46 € for the Residency Permit electronic card
  2. 30,00 € for the shipment tax
  3. 16,00 € for the revenue stamp (marca da bollo)

 

The Post Office will give you a receipt of payment, duly stamped. You must hand in a copy of the receipt to our International Office. Thep post officer will also issue a letter giving you an appointment to get your Residency Permit (electronic format). On that dat, you will have to bring 4 original passport pictures to the Immigration Office, together with the original documents of the copies previously sent.
You will find all the information regarding the procedure and the status of your case file, by inserting your username (codice assicurata) and password (codice ologramma) written on the Post Office receipt. www.portaleimmigrazione.it. Alternatively, you can also check the staus on the website of Polizia di Stato. Once you get your Residency Permit, make a copy and bring it to our International Office. Information will be also given during Welcome Days and orientation sessions.

 

Residency Permit renewal

If you are staying for a longer period than the validity of your Residency Permit, you will have to apply for its renewal 60 days before the expiration date:

  1. Fill in again form 1 (from page 1 to page 3)
  2. Submit the following documents: copy of your health insurance, copy of your financial statement, copy of your I-Catt self-declaration with final exams and grades;
  3. Ask the Students’ Service (Polo Studenti) to issue a certificate called “certificato per il rinnovo del permesso di soggiorno” which includes your grades and enrolment information. Submit the certificate as well.

When you hand in all the documents, you will have to pay:

  1. 70,46 € for the Residency Permit electronic card
