On May 9 2012 in Copenhagen, Denmark, Hans de Wit gave the Keynote Address at a Conference "Celebrating Erasmus 25 years past achievements and future perspectives" organised by the European Commission and the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, in presence of Ms. Androulla Vassiliou, Member of the European Commission for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, Mr. Morten Østergaard, Danish Minister for Education, and Her Royal Highness Princess Marie of Denmark.

The following day, May 10, Hans de Wit gave in Lund a keynote address during the President's Symposium of the Universities 21 Network of 23 universities from around the world, on the theme 'The Global University'.
On May 24, he gave a keynote address on Rationales for Internationalisation, at an International Conference organised by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the National Training Foundation in partnership with Russian International Affairs Council and New Eurasia Foundation.
